Paddy Chapman

Canterbury, New Zealand

Paddy Chapman Portrait

Paddy was born in 1987 in Christchurch, New Zealand, and moved to Nottingham in 2010 where he works in IT.  He started playing croquet at the age of 11, and was mentored by the legendary John Prince.
The highlight of his playing career to date was being part of the 2014 winning NZ MacRob team.  Other titles he has won over the years include the NZ Open Championship, Australian Men's Championship, Australian Open Doubles (twice - with Greg Bryant and Miranda Chapman), British Open Doubles (with Dave Maugham) and UK President's Cup. He has also been a finalist in both the World Championship and British Open.  As of 2017, he holds the record for the most sextuples completed by any New Zealander.

At the age of 29, the 2017 MacRobertson Shield will be Paddy's fourth MacRob, completing the circuit of playing in each of the four host countries.  He is very much looking forward to being part of the New Zealand team once again.
